RICHMOND, Va. – After registering six top three finishes against Siena this past weekend, freshman
Francesca Baber was selected as the CAA Women's Swimmer of the Week, while graduate student
Sara DiStefano was tabbed CAA Women's Diver of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Baber and DiStefano are the first members of the Seawolves swimming and diving program to claim weekly honors from the conference this season.
Baber tallied a pair of first place finishes, reaching the top of the podium individually in the 500 free (5:12.11) and 1000 free (10:42.46). She finished second in the 200-fly with a time of 2:17.45. She then teamed up with
Alanna DePinto,
Brenna Mowrey, and
Mia Saavedra to win the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:41.28, recording the fastest leg at 24.49.
Distefano was victorious in the 1-meter dive with a score of 248.40 against the Saints for her second victory of the season in the 1-meter competition. She then turned in a second-place effort on the 3-meter board with a score of 244.20.
Baber, DiStefano, and the Seawolves are back in action on the Island on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 12 p.m. when they take on Central Connecticut State.
