RICHMOND, Va. – After contributing six top-three finishes through the month of November/December,
Natalia Chornomidza has been named the CAA Rookie Diver of the Month as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Chornomidza is the third member of the Seawolves swimming and diving program to claim honors from the conference this season.
Chornomidza reached the top of the podium individually for the first time in her collegiate career against Siena in the 1-meter event with a score of 247.88, her best numbers thus far this season. She then tallied a 215.10 score to take third-place in the 3-meter competition.
Later in the month, the rookie diver recorded a pair of third-place efforts against Central Connecticut in the 1-meter (236.65) and 3-meter (235.70).
Chornomidza rounded out the first half of the season with Stony Brook at the ECAC Winter Championships where she placed second in both the 1-meter (231.00) and 3-meter (231.05) to wrap up November/December in style to earn CAA Rookie Diver of the Month.
Chornomidza and the Seawolves are back in action after the holiday break on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 12 p.m. when they take on Rider.
