Bonacci Claims Second Straight CAA Rookie of the Week Honor

RICHMOND, Va. - Freshman Justin Bonacci of Stony Brook men's lacrosse was named the CAA Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Bonacci earns the honor for the second straight week to open the season and his collegiate career.

The Port Jefferson Station, Long Island native tallied the first hat trick of his collegiate career on Saturday against nationally-ranked Rutgers. Bonacci's three goals were tied for the team-high in the loss to the Scarlet Knights, he also contributed four ground balls. Bonacci has now begun his career with back-to-back multi-goal efforts.

Stony Brook returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 17 against No. 13 Penn State. The Seawolves and Nittany Lions are set for a noon start at LaValle Stadium on Lacrosse TV.
