Seawolves Set Program Record in 400 Medley Relay on Day Two of 2024 CAA Championships

HAMPTON, Va. - The Stony Brook University swimming and diving team wrapped up day two of competition at the CAA Championships on Thursday. Stony Brook's quartet of Sara Baxter, Mary Kate Conway, Alanna DePinto and Michelle Vu set a program record in the 400 medley relay.

The highlight of the day came in the 400 medley relay, seeing the aforementioned quartet of swimmers race to a 3:48.48 finish in the event, setting a new program record. The squad finished with splits of 57.25, 1:05.03, 55.29 and 50.91, respectively, to break the program record.


In the women's three-meter diving, Sara DiStefano and Jocelyn Lichwick finished with scores of 198.30 and 173.10, respectively. Vu also competed in the 50-free finals, finishing with a time of 23.90, picking up a point for the Seawolves.

At the end of day two, Stony Brook sits in ninth place with 135 team points. Action resumes tomorrow at 10 a.m. with Seawolves competing in the prelims of the 100-fly, 400-IM, 200-free, 100-breast and 100-back events. The finals for those events are set for a 6 p.m. start later in the evening, with all the events streaming live on FloSwimming.
