RICHMOND, VA. - For the second week in a row, junior forward Sherese Pittman has been named the CAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office this morning.

Pittman is the third Stony Brook student-athlete to take home the weekly honor and it's the seventh time overall that a Seawolf have been garnered with the award. Graduate Khari Clark leads the conference with four weekly awards this season and graduate Gigi Gonzalez was named CAA Player of the Week on Jan. 15.

A native of Virginia, Pittman returned to her home-state in style by averaging 18.0 points and 14.0 rebounds per game, leading Stony Brook to a 2-0 weekend over Hampton and William & Mary. She also shot 55.0 percent (11-20) from the floor, recording back-to-back double-doubles with 3.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per contest during the weekend.

The forward began her week by leading Stony Brook to a victory over the Lady Pirates to secure the outright CAA Regular Season Championship. She tallied team-highs with 15 points and 14 rebounds, adding three assists, two blocks and one steal in the road victory. It marked a new season-high in rebounds for Pittman as she collected the eighth double-double in her career for Stony Brook and second of the season.

Pittman returned to the court on Saturday and helped Stony Brook rally from a double-digit halftime deficit against William & Mary by tallying 14 of her 22 points and seven of her 14 rebounds in the second half to secure the victory over the Tribe in the regular season finale. This was the ninth double-double of her career on the Island and third of the season.

In her last six games, Pittman is averaging a team-high 20 points and 10.6 rebounds per game, including three double-doubles. She currently ranks top-10 in the CAA for points per game (13.6), rebounds per game (7.3), free-throw percentage (80.3), and blocks per game (1.1).

The Seawolves set their sights on the CAA Women's Basketball Championship next week in Washington, D.C. Top-seeded Stony Brook will open play in the quarterfinals on Friday, March 15 at 12 p.m.
