WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Stony Brook women's lacrosse team received an offensive explosion en route to a 21-8 win over William & Mary on Thursday. With the win, the Seawolves improved to a perfect 6-0 in CAA play and extended their season-long winning streak to seven games in a row.
Stony Brook was paced by 12 different goal scorers on its way to a season-high tying 21-goal performance. The 21 goals marked the fourth time this season that the Seawolves scored 20 or more goals in a game (scored 21 goals vs. Campbell on Mar. 24, scored 20 goals vs. Villanova on Mar. 2, scored 20 goals vs. Arizona State on Feb. 23).

Kailyn Hart led all scorers with five goals on nine shots (eight shots on goal). Hart was one of three Seawolves who tallied hat tricks. Senior midfielder

Alex Finn each found the back of the net three times. Masera led all players with six points (three goals, three assists).
The Seawolves' 12 different goal scorers were a season-high. Of the 12 different goal scorers, four of them registered multi-goal games (Hart - 5, Masera - 3, Finn - 3, Hampel - 2).
After the game was tied up at 2-2 with 11:20 to play in the first quarter, Stony Brook went on a 12-0 scoring run to take a commanding 14-2 lead into the halftime break. Three of Hart's five goals and all of Masera and Finn's scoring came in the first half of play.
The Seawolves picked up right where they left off in the second half as they outscored the Tribe, 7-6, to go on to win 21-8. It was the 10
th time this season that Stony Brook held its opponent to single-digit goals. The Seawolves have held their opponents to single-digit goals in seven out of their last eight games.
Graduate goalie
Emily Manning picked up the win in net as she made two saves and only surrendered two goals in the first half of play. Junior defender
Avery Hines anchored the strong defensive effort with a pair of caused turnovers and two ground balls.
The Seawolves forced the Tribe to turn it over 19 times and held them to just 13 shots (12 on goal).

STATS AND NOTES
- Hart tallied five or more goals in a game for the ninth time this season. It marks the sixth time in as many games that she has racked up five or more goals in a contest.
- Masera recorded a game-high six points on three goal and three assists. She added eight draw controls and a ground ball for the Seawolves.
- Finn notched her sixth hat trick of the season and it was the 11th time this season that she dished out multiple assists in a game.
- Verhulst handed out a career-high four assists on the day and totaled five draw controls.
- Stony Brook moved to 15-0 in conference and conference tournament games as a member of the CAA.
- The Seawolves won their 59th straight conference game, a streak that began in 2015.

Stony Brook continues its road trip on Sunday, April 14, when it goes head-to-head with CAA foe Drexel in Philadelphia, Pa. at noon. The Seawolves are 4-0 all-time against the Dragons and earned a 15-3 win over them last season at LaValle Stadium.
