Women's Basketball Announces 2024-25 Non-Conference Slate

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook University women's basketball team announced its non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 season on Friday afternoon.
 
Stony Brook's non-conference slate includes seven home contests and five road matchups featuring nine different conference members and four opponents who participated in the NCAA Tournament or WNIT last season.
 
The squad will host an exhibition against Adelphi on Oct. 30 before officially tipping off on the road against Columbia on Nov. 4. The Seawolves have won six of their last seven meetings against the Lions, who lost in the First Four to No. 12 Vanderbilt in the NCAA Tournament.
 
Stony Brook returns to Long Island for their home opener on Nov. 7 against Le Moyne. The Seawolves will look to continue their success against the Dolphins after an 82-61 victory last season.
 
The following week sees the Seawolves travel up to Connecticut for a game against Yale on Nov. 15. before hosting Marist on Nov. 18. The squad has gone 4-3 all-time against the Ivy League contenders, while facing off against the Red Foxes for the first time since 2007.
 
Stony Brook then heads to Queens on Nov. 24 to take on head coach Joy McCorvey's alma mater in the St. John's Red Storm. The team finished third in the Big East, later dropping a close contest in the WBIT Second Round to Toledo.
 
Stony Brook bookends the Thanksgiving holiday weekend with a pair of home court contests, Harvard on Nov. 27 and Fordham on Dec. 1.
 
The Seawolves hit the road for a pair of games as they face off with Holy Cross on Dec. 8 ahead of a Dec. 14 meeting with Buffalo. This will be the second meeting between Stony Brook and each opposing squad, with the Seawolves emerging victorious against both the Crusaders and the Bulls last year.
 
Stony Brook returns home after the back-to-back road games on Dec. 18, welcoming Division II Georgian Court for the first time in program history. The Seawolves then close out their nonconference schedule against Cornell on Dec. 22, winning their two previous meetings against the Big Red, including an 81-56-win last season.
