RICHMOND, Va. – Stony Brook women's lacrosse had four players earn Preseason All-CAA honors in
Avery Hines,
Charlotte Wilmoth,
Isabella Caporuscio, and
Alexandra Fusco, as the Seawolves were picked to finish first in the league after back-to-back titles, as announced by the league office on Thursday.
Hines was a CAA First Team pick and Third Team All-American among both major media outlets last season after finishing fourth in the nation in total caused turnovers with 66 and setting a new program record averaging 3.14 per game, while adding a team-high 45 ground balls. She took Second Team All-American from USA Lacrosse in this year's preseason honors.
Wilmoth, a graduate transfer from UMass, was an Atlantic-10 Second Team and All-Championship Team selection last season after finishing second for the Minutewomen with 75 points on 55 goals and 20 assists, ranking 41
st among Division I leaders with 3.06 goals per game.
Caporuscio established herself as one of the best rookies on the Stony Brook squad, recording 12 points on nine goals and three assists through 21 games. She also collected 18 ground balls, 11 draw controls, and nine caused turnovers earning CAA All-Rookie honors.
Fusco appeared in all 21 games for the Seawolves last season, tallying a career-high 16 points on 11 goals and five assists, while scooping up 17 ground balls and forcing 11 turnovers. She made a name for herself during the 2024 NCAA Tournament after scoring three goals combined against Niagara and ranked-Syracuse.
Stony Brook was picked first in the CAA Preseason Coaches Poll, receiving seven first-place votes among the league's coaches, while Drexel and Towson each received one. League runner-up, Drexel, who reached the NCAA Tournament a season ago was picked second and Towson was picked third.

Stony Brook opens up the 2025 season on the road at Bryant on Wednesday, Feb. 12. The Seawolves host Johns Hopkins in the home opener on Saturday, March 1 at noon at LaValle Stadium.
