STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Seawolves split the weekend series vs. William & Mary after bouncing back from yesterday's loss with a 3-0 (25-21, 27-25, 25-23) sweep today at Pritchard Gymnasium.
The win boosted the Seawolves' record to 8-7 overall and 4-2 in the CAA.
Stony Brook was led by a double-double from Kali Moore, who registered 15 kills and 10 digs on the day. Quinn Anderson also added 12 kills to help the offense.
How It Happened
SET 1 | The Seawolves took set one 25-21 propelled by a solid showing on the attacking side with16 kills in the set victory. Four early aces, including one on Ayanna Pierre Louis' opening serve, along with three kills apiece from Moore and Anderson helped give the Seawolves a 15-12 lead halfway through. Though the Tribe came back to tie it at 19-19, Stony Brook managed to pull away down the stretch thanks to five William & Mary errors.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Stony Brook put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a narrow 27-25 victory in set number two. The set ended up tied nine times and had six lead changes as the Seawolves came back from multiple early deficits before scoring four unanswered to take a 15-14 lead. Stony Brook eventually got to set point at 24-19 behind a pair of blocks along with an ace and a kill from Pierre Louis. The Tribe, though, proceeded to go on a 6-0 run to take a 25-24 lead. Fortunately, the Seawolves were able to come back and close it out thanks to kills from Moore and Anderson and a huge block from Zamora.
SET 3 | Stony Brook finished off the match in a 3-0 sweep after taking yet another close set 25-23. Both teams were perfectly matched as neither took a lead greater than three points as they ended up tied 13 times, culminating in a 23-23 score. In the end, though, the Seawolves offense got the job done as they racked up 17 kills in the set, capped off by a pair from Moore and Pierre Louis to win the match.

» With her first kill of the match, Moore officially passed Leoni Kunz to take sole possession of seventh place overall and third-place in the Division I era on the program's all-time kills list with 1353. She ended the day with 1367 career kills.
» Moore's 10 digs also bring her to 990 in her career.
» Stony Brook got a team-high 11 digs from Zayda Fuertez.
