HAMPTON, Va. – The Stony Brook University swimming and diving team began the 2025 Coastal Athletic Association Championships this afternoon, February 26, in Hampton, Virginia.
The 200 Medley team composed of members from the junior class –
Sara Baxter,
Aili Talcott,
Michelle Vu, and freshman
Francesca Baber began the CAA Championships by completing the heat in 1:46.59, with splits of 27:47, 30.20, 24.91, and 24.01. The squad collected 44 team-points and earned eighth place with their time, respectively.
Later on in the evening, the Seawolves got back in action with the 800 Free Relay Team finishing the heat in 7:36.62.

Meredith Yuhasz and Baber earned 40 points after their ninth-place finish to end the day with 83 points as a team.
Stony Brook is currently sitting in eighth place with 83 team points. William & Mary is leading with 120 points, followed by Delaware with 118 points, UNCW with 110 points, and Northeastern with 104 points as Drexel and Towson are tied for fifth with 98 points. Campbell, Stony Brook, and Monmouth round out the competition.

The squad is back in the pool tomorrow for day two of the CAA Championships in Hampton, Va. The Seawolves will begin their morning at 10:00 a.m. with the 500 Free, 200 IM, and 50 Free prelims. At 12:30 p.m., Stony Brook will battle in the 3Mtr Diving preliminary round, followed by the 500 Free, 200 IM, 50 Free, 3Mtr Diving and 400 Medley Relay beginning at 6:30 p.m. Catch all the action live on FloSwimming.
