HAMPTON, Va. – The Stony Brook swimming and diving team put forth a valiant effort in their second day at the CAA Championships today, February 27.
In the morning session,
Meredith Yuhasz,
Francesca Baber,
Zoe Rebol,
Clara Armstrong, and
Mia Saavedra all competed in the 500-freestyle event. Yuhasz eclipsed the top 30 with a 29
th place finish with a time of 5:05.25. The rest of the Seawolves fell between the 30-45 benchmark.
Aili Talcott,
Hazel Alejos, and Lilly DeBellis each took to the water for the 200 Individual Medley with Talcott leading the charge with a time of 2:07.30 for a 31
st place finish.
Alanna DePinto,
Michelle Vu, and
Sara Baxter swam in the 50-freestyle as the trio logged times of 24.06, 24.10, and 25.44, respectively.
In the women's three-meter diving,
Natalia Chornomidza and
Sara DiStefano closed out the preliminary trials with scores of 206.25 and 206.00.
To end the night, the 400-medley relay composed of
Brenna Mowrey, Talcott, Vu, and DePinto finished eighth to collect 44 team points for the squad.

At the end of day two, Stony Brook still sits in eighth place with 139 team points. Action resumes tomorrow at 10 a.m. with Seawolves competing in the prelims of the 100-fly, 400-IM, 200-free, 100-breast and 100-back events. The finals for those events are set for a 6 p.m. start later in the evening, with all the events streaming live on FloSwimming.
