DePinto Breaks 100-Yard Breaststroke Record At Day Three Of CAA Championships

HAMPTON, Va.- On Friday, the Stony Brook swimming and diving team continued competition during day three of the 2025 CAA Championships. Alanna DePinto and Michelle Vu had standout performances for the Seawolves, as DePinto set a new program record in the 100-yard breaststroke.



In Friday's morning session, Vu and DePinto recorded strong swims to punch their tickets to swim finals later in the day. Vu advanced to the 100-yard butterfly finals with a clocking of 55.52.

DePinto shined in the 100-yard breaststroke trials, setting a new program record in the event (1:03.99).

In the Friday night finals session, Vu placed sixth in the 100-yard butterfly consolation finals with a solid time of 55.07. DePinto finished seventh in the consolation finals of the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.60).

The team of Francesca Baber, Vu, Sara Baxter, and DePinto placed ninth in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:35.79).

Vu (27th), Baxter (28th), and Brenna Mowrey (29th) all recorded top-30 finishes in the 100-yard backstroke trials. 

UP NEXT
After three days of competition, Stony Brook is in ninth place with 204 points. The Seawolves will wrap up the 2025 CAA Championships tomorrow, starting with swim trials at 10 a.m., diving prelims at 12:30 p.m., and finals at 6 p.m.
