LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Stony Brook University women's lacrosse alumnae Ally Kennedy '21 and Ellie Masera '24 were selected to compete in the inaugural Maybelline Women's Lacrosse League (WLL) All-Star Game at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City on July 4, as part of the PLL and WLL's 2025 Lexus All-Star Weekend.

Building on the successful debut of the WLL at the 2025 Maybelline Championship Series, the WLL All-Star Game will feature the league's first competition in the 10v10 format, similar to the full field collegiate and international women's game, as well as the men's professional field format.

Team Izzy Scane, coached by National Lacrosse Hall of Famer Jen Adams, selected Kennedy 10th overall in the draft, adding Masera to the squad 22nd overall. The Seawolves duo are two of 36 players made up of a combination of former collegiate lacrosse student-athletes and WLL professional players.

Kennedy totaled 329 points on 266 goals and 63 assists through her five-year stint with the Seawolves. She is second all-time in goals, fourth in points, and recorded the third-most draw controls (343) in program history. She was named both IWLCA and America East Midfielder of the Year in 2021 and claimed IWLCA and Inside Lacrosse All-American First Team honors. She was chosen second overall in the 2021 Athletes Unlimited College Draft. Since then, she has gone on to win gold with the U.S. National Team in the 2022 World Lacrosse Women's Championship. Most recently, Kennedy led the inaugural U.S. Women's Box National Team to gold and was named MVP.

Masera capped off a stellar senior season with a career-high 77 goals, 40 assists, and 117 points to lead the Seawolves to their second consecutive CAA Championship and 11th straight NCAA Tournament berth. Over the course of her career, she registered 317 points, 232 goals, 85 assists, and 390 draw controls. She was named the CAA Midfielder of the Year while receiving IWLCA, Inside Lacrosse, and USA Lacrosse All-American First Team honors. She was also selected as a Tewaaraton Award Finalist and was the third overall pick in the 2024 Athletes Unlimited College Draft. Masera holds the program career record for draw controls (390), is fourth all-time in goals, fifth in points, and sixth in assists.

This will be Kennedy and Masera's initial opportunity to compete in the WLL as both were unable to compete in the Championship Series this past February due to coaching collegiate lacrosse at Ohio State and Notre Dame, respectively. Kylie Ohlmiller '18 was the lone representative for Stony Brook in the Championship Series, scoring the first goal in WLL history.

The WLL All-Star Game will be held during a unified Lexus All-Star Weekend, where the PLL's Eastern and Western All-Stars will compete in the PLL All-Star Game. Both PLL and WLL All-Stars will also compete in Skills Competitions, to be announced at a later date.
