Seawolves Win Three Events At 2026 NYC Gotham Cup

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Stony Brook women's track & field continued its busy January slate on Friday afternoon, competing in the NYC Gotham Cup in Staten Island. It was a successful showing for the Seawolves, who went on to record three event wins and 12 top-eight placements on the day.

HIGHLIGHTS

Gabriela Mensah took home first in the 60-meter dash (8.27).
Grace Weigele recorded an event win in the mile, setting a new PR with a time of 4:50.11.
Danielle Cirrito, Samantha Osei-Kyei, Olivia Schwartz, and Shaylen Goslar teamed up to win the 4000-meter distance medley relay (11:53.18).
Sienna Bolasingh placed second in the high jump event (1.60m).
Osei-Kyei finished third in the 400-meter (58.89).
Danielle Birner placed third in the 800-meter event (2:22.35).
Amelie Guzman reached the podium with a third-place finish in the mile (4:58.91).
Goslar finished third in the 1,000-meter, setting a new PR with a clocking of 2:50.67.
The team of Kayla Holliday, Jessica Masterson, Jade Pazmino, and Mia Sandolo finished fourth in the 4x800 relay (10:12.47).
Isabel Leonardo recorded a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter (2:22.66).
Alejandra Garcia took sixth in the mile, setting a new PR in the process with a time of 5:11.77.
Cirrito placed sixth in the 1,000-meter (2:56.41).

UP NEXT
Stony Brook will head up to Boston to compete at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invite next Saturday, January 24.
