SPARKS, Md. — The Stony Brook women's lacrosse program earned their first national ranking of the year, taking the No. 16 spot in the USA Lacrosse Division I Women's Preseason Top 20.
The Seawolves concluded the 2025 season at No. 16 in USA Lacrosse Magazine's final poll. Stony Brook finished 16-5 overall and made a 12th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championship. Stony Brook defeated Drexel to capture a third straight CAA Championship, advancing to the Second Round after taking down No. 17 Loyola Maryland before ultimately falling to No. 2 Boston College.
The Seawolves picked up wins last season over three ranked programs: Denver (No. 24), Drexel (No. 21) and Loyola Maryland (No. 17).
This season, Stony Brook faces off with six programs that are either ranked or receiving votes in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Top 20: Northwestern (No. 2), Princeton (No. 6), Johns Hopkins (No. 12), Denver (RV), Drexel (RV) and UAlbany (RV).
Stony Brook opens the 2026 campaign at home against UAlbany on February 15. In total, Stony Brook plays nine home contests at LaValle Stadium. Game times and broadcast information will be announced at a later date. Fans interested in season tickets for the 2026 campaign can fill out this form.
