STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The preseason honors continue to roll in on Long Island as Anthony Ferrelli and Miles McGoy earned All-America and All-CAA recognition, while Joseph Garcia and Sebastian Regis also collected All-CAA honors, as the organization announced the preseason teams on Monday. 

Ferrelli earned a spot on the 2026 Preseason All-America Second Team defense, while McGoy was named to the Third Team defense. Ferrelli and McGoy were also selected to the Preseason All-CAA First Team defense, while Garcia and Regis earned Second Team honors.

Team captain Ferrelli leads the group after picking up three additional preseason honors. He has already earned Preseason All-CAA recognition and Stats Perform Preseason FCS All-America honors. He was also named to the 2026 Buck Buchanan Award Watch List. In a career-best season in 2025, the California native earned CSC Academic All-District and Second Team All-CAA honors after recording 109 tackles (52 solo, 57 assisted). That total ranked fifth in the CAA and tied for 23rd nationally among FCS players. Ferrelli recorded at least four tackles in every game and reached double figures five times, including a season-high 16 tackles and two tackles for loss against Maine. His 109 tackles tied for the third-most in a single season in program history.

McGoy joins Ferrelli on the Preseason All-CAA First Team after a breakout 2025 season that earned him All-CAA Honorable Mention recognition. He posted career highs with 30 tackles (23 solo), eight pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries while recording at least two tackles in 10 of 12 games. McGoy tied for fifth in the CAA in pass breakups and shared the conference lead with two fumble recoveries, a mark that ranked 12th nationally among FCS players.

Regis enters the 2026 season with Preseason All-CAA honors to add to his recognition from Phil Steele. He remains a focal point along the Seawolves' defensive line after a strong 2025 campaign. Regis started all 12 games, and his 10.0 tackles for loss ranked second on the team. The team captain also added 2.5 sacks, three quarterback hurries, and career highs with 33 total tackles and 19 solo stops. A consistent presence throughout the season, Regis recorded at least one tackle in 11 of 12 contests and registered a tackle for loss in nine games.

Garcia emerged as one of the CAA's top defensive backs in 2025 and has already earned Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention recognition. Last season, Garcia led both the team and the conference with four interceptions while recording 32 tackles. He posted a season-high six tackles and an interception at Maine before adding another pick in a victory over North Carolina A&T. Garcia capped the season with two interceptions against Bryant, becoming the first Seawolf since Nick Chimeneti in 2023 to record multiple interceptions in a game.

LaValle Stadium for Fan Day on Saturday, August 8, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The free event is open to the public and will feature an open practice, a post-practice meet-and-greet where children in eighth grade and under can take the field to meet the team and participate in drills, as well as the opportunity to pick up a 2026 Stony Brook Football schedule poster.
