Stony Brook, NY -- -
Stony Brook's hope to make the 2000 NCAA baseball tournament were severely dashed based on its strength of schedule last season. This year, that shouldn't be a factor as the Seawolves have aligned themselves with their toughest schedule in the program's history.
The Pack hits the road for 34 or its 51 games, highlighted by trips to St. John's, Seton Hall, Connecticut and Florida Atlantic. Both Florida Atlantic and Seton Hall were NCAA Tournament participants in 2000.
Stony Brook returns to Homestead, Florida for the Homestead Challenge March 17-23. Hartford, Northeastern, Bradley, Cornell and Harvard will all be on the slate during that week.
The newly aligned New York State baseball Conference will give the Seawolves a chance at post season play. Albany, Binghamton, CW Post, New York Tech and Pace will battle the Seawolves this season four times. All six teams make the double-elimination tournament May 12-14 at Pace University.
The Seawolves open the season with nine straight games on the road, beginning March 2 at Akron in Buies Creek, NC.
