Alison Porteus and the 200 medley relay team remained undefeated with a win againt Vermont

Women's Swimming Nips Vermont, 123-115

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women's swimming team earned a hard-fought 123-115 win over Vermont Saturday afternoon.

Starlyn Rupinski and Alison Porteus powered Stony Brook (4-5), each winning three events. Rupinski captured the 100 free (55.51) and the 200 free (2:00.09) while Porteus took first in the 200 individual medley (2:20.60) and the 100 breast in a time of 1:09.95. Rupinski and Porteus were also members of the victorious 200 medley relay team which remained undefeated with a first place finish in 1:55.43. Sarah Doret took home first in two events, winning the 1000 free (11:19.14) and the 500 free (5:29.60).

Kristi Schubert captured the three-meter diving event for Stony Brook while Vermont's Emily Hall nipped Stony Brook's Erin Byrnes in a spirited one-meter competition, 252.08-251.93.

The women are back in action tomorrow against Maine. The meet begins at 11:00 a.m.
