STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Stony Brook volleyball team (18-11/3-4) fell to the America East conference leading New Hampshire Wildcats (17-10/7-1) Friday night by the score of 3-0. The Wildcat attack out-hit the Seawolves .284 to .125.

Stony Brook could never quite get going on offense in the three games, but was led by senior LaToya Byerly's nine kills and was backed up by sophomore Valerie Maloy who finished second on the team with seven kills. Junior Tesha Harry earned her first start of the year and played well, killing four-out-of-ten balls in addition to a block.

On the defensive side, sophomore Abby Egan dug a team-leading 15 balls and was followed by junior Rachel Goldsmith's 12. Sophomore Julie Zub was close behind with nine. Sophomore Maria Samilo played tough at the net, tallying two solo blocks.

The Wildcat attack was spurred by the duo of Lauren Knight and Amy Dai. Each charted a total of 14 kills apiece in the win and Alyson Coler finished in third with 10.

The Seawolves close out a busy three-game week with their final match tomorrow as the Northeastern Huskies come to SBU Complex. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
