Final Stats

Fort Collins, Colo. - Richmond used two crucial second-half runs to cruise to a 91-60 victory over Stony Brook in the consolation game of the Colorado State Ram Holiday Classic on Sunday.

The Spiders (7-2) scored 15 unanswered points over the first 3:38 of the second stanza, then outscored the Seawolves 16-0 later in the half to put the game out of reach. Freshman Jessie Boylan's jumper with 16:22 remaining served as Stony Brook's first points of the half and was one of just seven second-half field goals. The Seawolves later went scoreless for six minutes until junior Sherry Jordan stepped to the line to score two of her 10 second half points to pull Stony Brook to within 85-47 at the 6:41 mark. After leading by just 12 at halftime, the Spiders saw their lead balloon to 39 before Jordan's free throws.

Stony Brook (2-7) started off with impressive shooting, as freshman Kelly McManus drilled two early three-pointers and Danielle DeGiorgio connected on a jumper to give SBU the early 8-6 lead with 16:38 remaining before the break. But the Spiders scored 12 unanswered points over the next three minutes to take a 10-point lead. Cammy Desmond's layup with 5:52 left gave the Spiders a 35-25 edge, and they would lead by double-digits the rest of the way.

Richmond finished with 52 percent shooting (34-66) and made 20-33 shots in the first half (61 percent). They also forced the Seawolves into 32 turnovers and held SBU to just 32 percent shooting from the field (19-59).

Stony Brook's McManus netted a career-high 12 points, all coming in the first half. Jordan also added 12 and grabbed six rebounds. Sophomore Stephanie Barlett finished with 11.

Five Spiders scored in double figures, with Ebony Tanner leading the way with a game-high 22 points and 13 boards. Kate Flavin added 21 while Amber Goppert had 17. Desmond chipped in with 14 and Elise Ryder added 11.

The Seawolves return to action on Sunday, Jan. 5, when they play host to Brown. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
