Stony Brook at Binghamton Game Notes, Tuesday, March 26, 1:00 p.m.
Backdrop: The Seawolves resume conference play after a two-game layoff with a Tuesday matchup against Binghamton. The Bearcats are in their first year of Division I competition and first year as a Division I lacrosse team.
Pall Stalks Wilson: Kevin Pall's five goals against Navy on Saturday leaves him with 106 for his career, six shy of SB's all-time leader Courtney Wilson who notched 112 markers from 1994-97. Pall's five goal outburst was the fifth time in his career where he has scored five or more goals in one game.
Conlon For Three: Freshman Steve Conlon posted another seven-point week and now has 18 for the year. The rookie attackmen is averaging three points per game and leads the team with 10 assists.
Close, but no....: Stony Brook has lost three games this season -- all by one goal. It fell 8-7 to No. 11 UMass in the opener, 9-8 to Hartford and then 11-10 to No. 14 Navy in triple overtime. The Navy loss was especially tough as the Midshipmen scored the equalizer with two seconds remaining in regulation. The Seawolves are 1-3 in one-goal games this year.
News And Notes: Mike Dworczyk scored his first goal of the year against Navy . . . Brian Abrams had one of his best games versus the Midshipmen - he finished with a goal and two assists . . . Stony Brook returns home to face America East foe Vermont on Saturday. The Seawolves will have only one conference game remaining after facing the Catamounts . . . the triple overtime game against Navy marked the second time that SB has gone to three overtimes to decide a game. The other was a 10-9 over Providence on March, 30 1994 . . . senior Jon Tompkins went down with a knee injury in the Navy game. He will be examined this week to determine the extent of the injury.
