This Weekend's Matchups
The Seawolves (1-5) travel to Philadelphia to play in the Hawk Classic hosted by Saint Joseph's. SBU opens play vs. the Hawks (4-3) on Dec. 28 and will play either George Mason (3-2) or Charlotte (6-4) on Dec. 29.

Scouting the Hawks
Saint Joseph's returns all five starters and 10 letterwinners from a team that went 19-11 and advanced to the second round of the WNIT last season.

The Hawks fell for the second time in their last three with an 87-34 loss to No. 1 Connecticut last time out.

Saint Joseph's is led by Stephanie Graff, who is averaging 10.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.

Scouting the Rest of the Field
The Seawolves will take on either George Mason or Charlotte in the second game of the Hawk Classic. It will mark the first all-time meeting with either team.

George Mason returns four starters and 11 letterwinners from a team that went 11-7 last year. The Patriots, who fell to Fordham 66-60 last time out, are led by Jen Derevjanic, who is averaging 19.0 points per game.

Charlotte returns four starters and 11 letterwinners from a team that went 12-2 and advanced to the NCAA First Round a year ago. The 49ers are led by Sakeille Daniels, who is averaging 12.9 points per outing.

Last Time Out
Fordham scored 10 unanswered points over the final 3:24 of the game to lift the Rams to a 54-47 victory over Stony Brook at Rose Hill Gym. Jessica Smith led the Seawolves with 11 points to go with six rebounds, while Inbar Orion, who took three charges in the game, collected her first career double-double with a 10-point, 11-rebound performance. Sherry Jordan added six steals for SBU.

Struggling from the Floor
After shooting a season-best .517 (31-60) vs. IPFW on December 29, SBU has shot just .348 (39-112) in its last two contests. The Seawolves have also struggled from downtown in those two games, shooting just .240 (6-25) from three point range.

Welcome Back, Sherry
Senior Sherry Jordan returned to the Seawolves lineup on Dec. 11 vs. Providence after missing the team's first four games of the season with an illness.

Jordan quickly made her presence felt, collecting a game-high 18 points to go with 10 rebounds and two blocks in 25 minutes of action off the bench. The forward shot 5-for-10 from the field, including a huge three pointer late in the game, and 7-for-8 from the free throw line.

Smith Not Playing Like a Freshman
Freshman Jessica Smith has been one of SBU's top performers through its first seven games this season.

The forward, who currently ranks fourth in the America East with 7.2 rebounds per game, leads the team in scoring (12.0 ppg) and rebounding.

Smith recorded her first career double-double with a 14-point, 15-rebounds performance vs. Providence on Dec. 11. Her 15 rebounds more than doubled her previous career-high.

Seawolves in The America East Stats
Several Seawolves are among the America East leaders in games played through Dec. 21.

Jessica Smith ranks first in the league with 3.67 offensive rebounds per game, 12th with 12.0 points per outing, fourth with 7.2 rebounds per game and 3rd with a .500 field goal percentage. Inbar Orion is tied for 10th with 6.3 rebounds per game and ninth with 0.67 blocks per game. Bojana Bogetic ranks eighth with 6.4 boards per contest and fourth with 1.40 blocks per game. Theresa LoParrino stands fourth with a 1.78 assist/turnover ratio.

As a team, the Seawolves are sixth with a .418 field goal percentage and third with a .388 field goal percentage defense.

Notable
The Seawolves have outrebounded their opponents by a 124-107 margin in their last three games . . . with the Seawolves loss to Providence on Dec. 11, SBU failed to win consecutive games, something it has not done since defeating UNH and Northeastern last season on Feb. 2 and 5, respectively . . . SBU outrebounded Providence by 20, 48-28, and posted a 22-5 advantage on the offensive boards back on Dec. 11 . . . in SBU's outing vs. IPFW on Nov. 29, the Seawolves shot over 50 percent for the first time since March 5, 2003 vs. Albany (55.2 percent), which covered a span of five games.

T-Lo Moving Up
Senior Theresa LoParrino continues to move up on Stony Brook's all-time record book in several categories.

The guard moved into sixth place all-time after connecting on her 222nd free throw and now stands 32 away from fifth place (Lisa White, 254). LoParrino also moved into third place with a .763 (222-of-291) free throw percentage.

LoParrino ranks in several other categories, including three point field goals (second, 91) and free throw attempts (eighth, 291).

Oh, Sherry
Senior Sherry Jordan is looking to make her final season at Stony Brook a memorable one.

A two-time all-conference pick and a preseason all-league selection, Jordan has scored in double-figures in 69 of the 77 games she has played in, including 27 games with 20 or more points and four with 30 or more.

Jordan currently has 1,307 career points, good for seventh all-time at Stony Brook. She needs just 220 points to pass Katie Browngardt (1,527 points, 1988-91) on the list for second place all-time. Michele White (1983-87) is the Seawolves' leader with 2,183 career points.
