Jessica Smith picks up Stony Brook Athlete of the Week honors after two outstanding performances, averaging 21.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting .800 (20-for-25) from the field in a 1-1 week for the women's basketball team.
The sophomore kicked off the week by tying her career-high with 23 points behind a school record 11-for-11 performance vs. Providence before capping the week with 20 points and eight boards at St. Bonaventure.
On the season, Smith leads America East with a .656 field goal percentage, ranks second on the team and third in the league in scoring (16.5 ppg) and second on the team in rebounding (7.2 rpg).
