Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook swimming and diving teams earned a split with Binghamton, as the women's team closed out the regular season with a 135-108 win to improve to 8-7, while the men's team fell 127-111 to drop to 8-6.

On the women's side, the 400-medley relay team of Kim Harris, Alison Porteus, Allison DeSanti and Shirlee Manoogian took first place in a new Stony Brook record of 4:01.26, while Harris' 1:00.00 lead-off leg set a new school record for the 100-yard backstroke. Manoogian won the 50 and 500 freestyles, while Harris captured the 200-yard back and Porteus and DeSanti finished first and second, respectively, in the 200-yard breaststroke.

The men's team started out with a 1-2 finish in the medley relay, with the team of Jason Ferrara, Kirill Alekseyev, Matt Hanson and Ted Freeborn winning in 3:35.71. Jeffrey Chu won the 200-yard butterfly, Freeborn took the 100-yard freestyle and Billy Fick captured the 200-yard backstroke to lead the Seawolves.

The Seawolves swept the diving events, with Erin Byrnes taking the one-meter with a score of 225.53, while Hailey Lewandowski captured the three-meter with a score of 208.88. Lewandowski was also second in the one-meter (222.23) while Kristen Pagano was third (212.93).

The Seawolves return to action on February 20-22 when they travel to Orono, Maine, to compete in the America East swimming and diving championships.
