Today's Matchup
Stony Brook (5-3) hits the road to battle in-state rival St. John's (8-1) this afternoon. The Red Storm owns a 4-1 all-time advantage in the series, with the Seawolves only win - a 65-51 victory at St. John's - coming back on December 16, 2001.

Scouting the Red Storm
St. John's enters today's contest having won eight of its first nine games this season, including a 71-65 victory at Hofstra on December 11. On the season, the Red Storm has outscored its opponents by a margin of 19.2 points per game.

SJU is led by Angela Clark's 14.7 points per game, while Kia Wright (13.6 ppg) and Danielle Chambers (10.7 ppg) are also averaging double figures scoring.

Last Time Out
Jessica Smith and Mykeema Ford each netted 20 points and Sidney Orndorff hit a pair of key three-pointers in the second half as Stony Brook defeated Dartmouth 71-64 on Tuesday.

Smith posted her second double-double of the season, finishing with 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor to go with 10 rebounds. Ford collected 20 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals, while Ferraro pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds to go with nine points. Orndorff added 11 points, a game-high six assists and five rebounds in the win.

Dana Gets Back on the Boards
One game after seeing her seven game double-figures rebounding steak end, Dana Ferraro bounced right back, tying her season-high with 14 boards vs. Dartmouth on December 13.

Ferraro, who leads America East with 11.3 rebounds per game, has now reached double-figures in seven of the Seawolves eight contests this season.

Orndorff Quietly Becoming Threat for SB
Newcomer Sidney Orndorff has heated up over the Seawolves last three games, quietly becoming one of the biggest threats in the Stony Brook lineup.

Over SB's last three outings, Orndorff is averaging 12.3 points, nearly four more points than her season average of 8.6, while shooting 52.2 percent from the floor, 53.3 percent from three-point range and 83.3 percent from the free throw line. In addition, the junior transfer has pulled down 4.0 rebounds and dished out 3.3 assists, including a season-high six in SB's win over Dartmouth on December 13.

Paw Prints
Stony Brook has defeated both conference champions it has faced so far this year, knocking off A-10 champ Temple on December 7 before downing Ivy League champion Dartmouth on December 13... the Seawolves have faced three teams that have either been ranked or received votes in the national polls so far this season, going 1-2 in those games.

Smith Earns America East Co-Player of the Week Honors
Jessica Smith was named the America East co-Player of the Week in women's basketball for the week ending December 11. Smith picks up the honors after averaging 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals in a 1-1 week for the Seawolves that included a 58-56 upset victory over No. 19 Temple.

Smith posted a team-high 21 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field to go with four rebounds, four steals and a pair of assists in the upset of the Owls and added 12 points and five boards at George Washington.

SB Trio Among League Leaders
Stony Brook's Dana Ferraro, Jessica Smith and Mykeema Ford rank among America East leaders in several categories in games played through December 14.

Smith leads the league with 16.8 points and 2.88 steals per contest while Ferraro is tops with 11.2 rebounds and 8.50 defensive rebounds per game and Ford ranks second with 14.9 points, 5.50 assists and a 1.76 assist/turnover ratio.

Ferraro, Ford Among NCAA Leaders
Stony Brook's Dana Ferraro and Mykeema Ford rank among the NCAA Division I leaders in games played through December 12.

Ferraro, who leads America East in rebounding, ranks 19th in the nation with 10.9 rebounds per game, while Ford, who leads the league in assists, stands 28th in the country with 5.6 assists per game.
