Stony Brook, N.Y. -
Erica Lawrence has been named an assistant women's basketball coach at Stony Brook University, head coach Maura McHugh announced on Tuesday. Lawrence arrives at Stony Brook after serving as an assistant coach at Rider University for the past year.
"I am extremely pleased to have Erica join our staff," said McHugh. "Her experience as a standout player at George Washington University, her coaching experience at Rider University and her New York roots will make her a valuable asset to our program."

A four-year standout player at The George Washington University, Lawrence tallied over 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in her career while helping to lead her team to the NCAA Tournament in three of her four seasons. The Atlantic-10 Newcomer of the Year as a freshman, Lawrence went on to earn second team All-Atlantic-10 honors in her sophomore campaign. A two-time team captain, Lawrence earned a bachelor of science in exercise science in 2003.
