Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook's Jessica Smith was named to the ESPN The Magazine 2006 Academic All-District I Women's Basketball Second Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced. A health science major with a 3.48 overall GPA, Smith ranks among America East leaders with 14.8 points and 7.2 boards per game as the Seawolves head into the conference tournament this week.

Only a junior, Smith currently ranks ninth all-time in Stony Brook history with 1182 points scored and seventh all-time in rebounds with 673. She has been honored as America East Player of the Week four times this season. A two-time all-conference selection and the 2004 America East Rookie of the Year, Smith has helped lead the Seawovles to a 19-8 record and the two seed for the America East Tournament.
