Jessica Smith (Bloomingdale, N.J./Butler) has been named America East Player of the Week for week 17. Smith earns her fourth player of the week honor of the season and ninth all-time, which ranks sixth-best in conference history. She averaged 18.5 ppg and 8.0 rpg as the second-seeded Seawolves closed out the regular season on a seven-game winning streak. She scored 21 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to record her league-best seventh double-double of the season on Wednesday at Albany. She followed that up with 16 points and seven steals in Stony Brooks win over Maine. The senior forward is the league leader in rebounding at 7.6 rpg and ranks second in the conference in scoring trailing only her teammate Mykeema Ford (Trenton, N.J./Cheshire Academy).
