Senior Gulce Nazli Dikecligil (Istanbul, Turkey) tallied 29 kills, including a team-high 24 against Bryant, coupled with 16 digs. Also tallying double-digit kills for Stony Brook were sophomore Ashley Headen (Alexandria, Va.) with 22, senior Jessica Graham (Eastport, N.Y.) with 11 and junior Lisa Doremus (Glendale, Ariz.) with ten.

The Seawolves started the day with a close first set against Bryant as a kill from Dikecligil tied the score at ten. Back-to-back errors by the Bulldogs and another put-away by Dikecligil gave Stony Brook a three point advantage and forced Bryant into a timeout. Coming out of the break, the Seawolves ran off a 7-3 run with four different players notching kills. After another Bryant timeout, Stony Brook closed the set out with 5-3 run.
The two teams found themselves tied at ten in the second frame as well, but it was Bryant who went on the run this time, opening an 18-14 lead on a service ace from Hilary Andrews. Following a Stony Brook timeout, the Seawolves rallied with five straight points, including two kills from both Dikecligil and Headen. The two teams traded points before back-to-back kills by Bryant's Andrews and Jazmin Stoner gave the Bulldogs the 27-25 win.
Behind a pair of kills from both Nelson and Headen and two aces from Graham, the Seawolves opened the third frame on a 6-2 run. The Bulldogs used a pair of scoring runs to grab a 13-10 lead, before Stony Brook bounced back and pulled within five points of winning the match at 20-15. The Bulldogs would not go quietly, however, as they outscored Stony Brook 10-3 down the stretch, claiming a 25-23 victory.
The Seawolves opened the fourth set strongly, leading by as much as seven. Bryant rallied once again, pulling within one at 23-22, but back-to-back kills from Nelson secured the win for Stony Brook and forced a deciding fifth set.
The two teams traded points early, before the Seawolves opened up a 10-6 lead on a kill by Doremus. Unlike the two previous times Stony Brook faced a fifth set, the Seawolves maintained their lead this time, closing the match out with a 15-10 victory.
Stony Brook trailed only once in the three sets they played against Quinnipiac. In the second frame, two Stony Brook errors gave the Bobcats a 9-8 lead. The Seawolves rallied quickly, as a kill from Nelson eventually put them on top 17-12. Quinnipiac hung tough though, tying the score twice more at both 18 and 20 all. Nelson's offensive attack was just too much for the Bobcats as another kill gave the Seawolves the lead for good, eventually winning 25-22.
A mixture of kills from Doremus and Nelson and aces from Dikecligil gave the Seawolves an early cushion in the third set as they cruised to a 25-9 victory for the sweep.
The Seawolves next match will be against St. John's in Queens, N.Y. on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
