Monmouth Game Notes
Stony Brook, N.Y. -
Coming off its first victory of the season, Stony Brook looks to keep its winning ways going when it travels to West Long Branch, New Jersey to face Monmouth on Wednesday night. The Hawks are the third of four teams from the Northeast Conference that the Seawolves will play this year. SBU is 8-6 all-time against opponents from the NEC, with two of those wins coming against Monmouth. This will be the first time these two schools have squared off since the 2000-01 campaign. Wednesday's game will be broadcast online by Jeff Bernstein and can also be followed via Monmouth's live stats.
Scouting Monmouth
The Hawks enter tonight's game with a 2-3 record after winning its previous game, 46-43, over Davidson. Freshman Alysha Womack has led Monmouth in scoring in three of its five games this season, scoring a career-best 14 twice. She is the only Hawk averaging double-figures with 12.0 ppg. She is one of eight freshmen on the roster, four of whom have cracked the Hawks' starting lineup.
Prior to its win over Davidson, Monmouth lost to UNC-Wilmington, 63-49, a team Stony Brook will face on December 28th in Maryland.
