Stony Brook, N.Y. -
Stony Brook University's women's basketball team has a chance to win its second-straight home contest when it hosts Boston University on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. SBU has a 7-12 record against the Terriers all-time, having lost its last four matchups. Wednesday's game will be broadcast locally on WUSB 90.1 FM with Jeff Bernstein calling the play-by-play and Sue Serafini providing color commentary. The game can also be followed online at www.goseawolves.org which provides live stats and video streaming.
Scouting Boston University
After going 16-0 in conference play last season, the Terriers enter the tilt with a 2-0 mark against America East opponents. Boston University defeated Maine and Binghamton on the road last week, but have been off since January 7. The Terriers have a 6-8 overall record after a grueling non-conference schedule which featured just three home games.
Boston University features a balanced scoring attack with four players averaging double-figures. Alex Young and Chantell Alford both average just over 14 ppg with Caitlyn Moran (13.2) and Aly Hinton (10.3) rounding out the scoring attack.
Last Time Out
Stony Brook dropped its road contest with Binghamton, 74-58, on Saturday afternoon. Senior Crystal Rushin (Valley Stream, N.Y.) scored a career-high 14 points, but the Bearcats' balanced scoring attack and 54% shooting was just too much for the Seawolves.
Stony Brook had a strong start to the game, leading by 11 at the 12:16 mark in the first half. Binghamton used a 16-2 run, however, to move in front at 26-23. SBU would trim the deficit to one on two different occasions, but would never retake the lead as the Bearcats held on for the victory.
