Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook University's women's basketball team looks to move above the .500 mark in conference play for the first time since 2006-07 when it hits the road to face #24 Vermont on Sunday afternoon. The Seawolves trail in the all-time series, 10-7. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. The game can be heard online at www.goseawolves.org with Jeff Bernstein announcing. The game can also be followed online via Gametracker and live video stream.

Scouting Vermont
Picked as the preseason conference favorite, #24 Vermont entered the AP Top 25 poll this week becoming the first team in America East history to be ranked in the AP poll. How long the Catamounts stay ranked is questionable, however, as they lost to Boston University, 73-64, earlier this week. They rebounded quickly, though, with a 79-51 victory over UMBC on Thursday. The highest scoring team in the conference, Vermont is paced by a pair of preseason all-conference team selections in Courtnay Pilypaitis and May Kotsopoulos.

Last Time Out
Leading by as many as 21 in the second half, Stony Brook University's women's basketball team saw its lead dwindle to as few as six, but held off a late rally from Albany for a 46-37 victory on Tuesday night in Pritchard Gymnasium. Freshman Sam Landers (Springfield, Va.) led the way for Stony Brook with 11 points.

Stony Brook's defensive pressure held Albany to just 23% shooting, including a streak of 15:45 when the Great Danes were held without a field goal. SBU went through a cold streak of its own in the second half, though, which allowed Albany back into the game. A lefty layup from Landers with 53 seconds remaining broke a 15-0 run by Albany and helped SBU hold on for the victory.
