Women's Basketball travels to ODU on Tuesday

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Playing its second game in three days the Stony Brook women's basketball team will try to snap a four-game losing streak on Tuesday against the Old Dominion Lady Monarchs. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

Last time out
Stony Brook held the Long Island Blackbirds to 36.8 percent shooting but it wasn't enough as Ashley Palmer scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Blackbirds to a 59-43 victory on Sunday afternoon at the Wellness Center.

Senior Kirsten Jeter (Elmont, N.Y.) led the Seawolves with nine points and six rebounds. Stony Brook cut a 29-point second half deficit to 13 but the Blackbirds held on to deal SBU its fourth straight loss. The Seawolves shot 23.5 percent from the field for the game.

Scouting Old Dominion
Off since falling to Richmond last Sunday, the Lady Monarchs have dropped three of their last four. ODU was ranked ninth in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top-25 poll and has played the 31st toughest schedule in the country accoring to CollegeRPI.com.

The Lady Monarchs were picked to finish second in the CAA Preseason poll. ODU returns four starters from last year's squad that won the CAA regular season title and advanced to the second round of the WNIT.

Jasmine Parker is averaging a team-best 14.5 points per game for ODU. Parker was an all-conference selection last season and was named to the Preseason All-CAA Second Team.
