After playing its last five games at home, the Stony Brook University women's basketball team begins a five-game road trip at George Mason on Thursday. Game time is set for 7 p.m. It will be the Seawolves first true road game of the season.

Senior Kirsten Jeter (Elmont, N.Y.) led three Seawolves in double-figures with a game-high 16 points but the Iona Gaels used a late 9-0 run to defeat the Stony Brook University women's basketball team, 71-67, on Sunday at Pritchard Gymnasium.
Jeter also pulled down 10 rebounds as she recorded her first double-double this season and the 10th of her career. Sophomore Sam Landers (Hamilton, Va.) added 15 while junior Destiny Jacobs (Glen Burnie, Md.) chipped in with 14 points and seven rebounds.

Stony Brook leads the America East in scoring offense (71.1 points per game) and ranks second in free throw percentage (.731) and field goal percentage (.402) ... SBU is also tied for first with 9.71 steals per game ... Stony Brook has had double-figures in steals in four of its last five games.
Scouting George Mason
The Patriots (2-5) come into Thursday's game off a 67-58 loss to George Washington. GMU has lost five of six since defeating UMass in the opener.
George Mason was selected 10th in the 12 team Colonial Athletic Association preseason poll. Brittany Poindexter earned preseason All-CAA honorable mention honors and scored a game-high 22 points against George Washington.
Poindexter is averaging a team-best 10.6 points per game for the Patriots, who are averaging just 52.4 points per game. Amber Easter and Taleia Moton each are averaging 10.0 points per contest.
