Crowley, McBride Named As 2010 Tewaaraton Award Nominees

Washington, D.C. - Juniors Kevin Crowley (New Westminster, British Columbia) and Jordan McBride (New Westminster, British Columbia) have been named as 2010 Tewaaraton Award nominees, the Greater Washington Sports Alliance announced on Wednesday. Crowley and McBride are two of just 26 student-athletes on the list.

Crowley has recorded a team-leading 49 points this season (31g, 18a). He has seven hat tricks to his credit and ranks third all-time in school history with 67 assists. Crowley ranks third in the country in points per game (4.9) and fifth in goals per game (3.1).

McBride, who is second in school history with 123 goals, has 37 in 10 games. He leads the nation in shooting percentage (.569%), and is third in goals per game (3.7) and ninth in points per game (4.3). They are tied for fifth in school history with 148 points.

The Tewaaraton Award was formally established in August of 2000 and is the pre-eminent lacrosse award, which is given annually to the NCAA men's and women's lacrosse player of the year. This will be the 10th annual awards ceremony and is the "Year of the Seneca".

The award will be presented on June 3, 2010 at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.
