About the Game: Playing its second game in three days, the Stony Brook University women's basketball team hosts the Robert Morris University Colonials Wednesday afternoon at Pritchard Gymnasium. In search of its first win of 2011-12, the Seawolves will be facing off against Robert Morris for the second time in program history.
Meet the Seawolves: SBU is led in scoring by junior Dani Klupenger (Aurora, Ore.), who is averaging 15.0 points per game over Stony Brook's last two contests. Stony Brook is holding its opponents to 49.3 points per game.
Scouting Robert Morris: Robert Morris is off to a 3-0 start for just the second time in the program's 36 year history. This will be the Colonials first road game of the season. RMU has four players averaging double-figures in scoring led by senior forward Mary Durojaye's 14.3 points per game. Sophomore Artemis Spanou is averaging a double-double (13.3 ppg, 10.7 rpg) through three games this season. The Colonials are coming off 64-55 win over Central Michigan on Friday. Spanou had 24 points and 13 rebounds and Durojaye chipped in with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Colonials were picked second in the NEC preseason coaches poll.
Last Time Out: Junior Dani Klupenger scored a career-high 16 points but the George Mason Patriots went on a 26-6 game-ending run to rally for a 54-50 win over the Stony Brook University women's basketball team on Monday night in the Seawolves home opener at Pritchard Gymnasium. Klupenger went 5-for-10 from three and was named Stony Brook's America East Player of the Game. Junior Jessica Previlon added nine points and six rebounds and freshman Kellie Krueger chipped in with eight points.
