About the Game: Stony Brook begins America East play on Monday night, traveling to take on the Vermont Catamounts. The Seawolves are looking for their first victory over UVM since a 96-87 overtime victory at Stony Brook Arena on Feb. 24, 2007.

Meet the Seawolves: SBU has won two straight after knocking off Youngstown State on Tuesday and will be looking for its first three-game winning streak since the 2008-09 season. Stony Brook held Youngstown 16 points below their scoring average and held YSU to 25.9 percent shooting. The Seawolves have held their opponents under 35 percent shooting in three of their last four games.

Scouting Vermont: The Catamounts enter off losses to LaSalle and No. 15 Georgetown at Darmouth’s Blue Sky Classic last week. UVM has lost six straight after opening the season 6-1. UVM leads the America East in scoring offense (61.2 points per game) despite ranking eighth in the conference in shooting percentage. The Catamounts are averaging 6.0 made threes per game and are first in the America East in free throw makes and attempts. Vermont is led by junior Lauren Buschmann, who is third in the conference in scoring (14.6 ppg) and fifth in rebounding (7.8 rpg). Buschmann also leads the America East with a .504 field goal percentage. UVM is allowing 64.0 points per game, which ranks last in the America East.

Last time out: Stony Brook University’s women’s basketball team held Youngstown State to 25.9 percent shooting and led from start to finish in a 54-47 victory over YSU on Tuesday night at Pritchard Gymnasium. It was the second consecutive win for the Seawolves, who were led by junior Dani Klupenger’s 11 points. Klupenger went 3-for-6 from three-point range for Stony Brook while senior Tamiel Murray chipped in with a season-high 10 points and six rebounds.
