About the Game: The Stony Brook University women's basketball team will try to return to the win column on Sunday afternoon, hosting the Fordham Rams. Fordham has won all five previous meetings between the programs. 

Meet the Seawolves: Stony Brook leads the America East and is 52nd in the nation in scoring defense at 55.8 points per game. Stony Brook has faced the fourth toughest schedule in the nation according to RPIreport.com. The Seawolves eight opponents this season are all at .500 or better and have a combined record of 48-16. 

Scouting Fordham: Fordham is in its first season under head coach Stephanie Gaitley and enters off a 68-48 loss to No. 11 Rutgers on Thursday. It was the second straight loss for the Rams, who won five of their first seven games. Sophomore guard Abigail Corning is averaging a team-high 11.8 points per game and is one of three Rams averaging double-figures. Corning is shooting 45 percent from three-point range for Fordham, who is making almost seven threes per game. Fordham is averaging just 50.6 points per game but is holding its opponents to just 50.9 points per contest. 

Last time out: Stony Brook shot a season-high 42.9 percent but the LIU Blackbirds scored the first seven points of overtime on their way to a 66-59 victory over the Seawolves. LIU's Krystal Wells hit a game-tying three with 4.5 seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime. Freshman Kellie Krueger led the Seawolves with season-highs of 12 points and eight rebounds and junior Jessica Previlon added 10 points. Junior Gerda Gatling chipped in with seven points and five steals including two free throws with 44 seconds left to give Stony Brook a 54-52 lead.
