Senior Kirsten Jeter (Elmont, N.Y.), of the Stony Brook University women's basketball team, has been named America East Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. It is the second time this season she has earned the honor.
Jeter scored a game-high 26 points in the Seawolves 66-62 win over Maine on Saturday and also pulled down seven rebounds in addition to setting a career-high with seven steals. The 5-10 forward is averaging an America East best 17.5 points per game during conference play.
She also had 19 points and six rebounds against New Hampshire on Wednesday, becoming the seventh player in program history to score 1,400 points. She also had six rebounds against UNH to eclipse 700 career rebounds and is only the fourth player in school history to have 1,400 points and 700 rebounds.
The Seawolves return to action on Thursday, traveling to take on Albany. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
