In search of its second straight win, the Stony Brook University women's basketball team heads to Albany to take on the Great Danes on Thursday night at SEFCU Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
Last time out
Senior Kirsten Jeter (Elmont, N.Y.) scored a game-high 26 points and the Seawolves withstood a late Maine rally to defeat the Black Bears, 66-62, on Saturday at Stony Brook Arena.
Jeter also pulled down seven rebounds and had a career-high seven steals. The Seawolves (5-19, 2-10 AE) scored 30 points off 32 Maine turnovers and went 24-for-40 from the foul line. Sophomore Juanita Cochran (Saginaw, Mich.) added 10 points and six rebounds and sophomore Sam Landers (Springfield, Va.) chipped in with 10 points and dished out five assists.
Scouting the Great Danes
Albany (14-11, 7-5 AE) has won two straight after defeating Vermont, 75-65, on Monday. The Great Danes handed first place Boston University its first conference loss in their previous game.
Sophomore guard Ebone Henry had 20 points to go along with six rebounds against Vermont and is third in the conference in scoring during America East Play (16.6 points per game).
Currently in fifth place in the America East standings, Albany is second in the conference in turnover margin (3.5) during league play. Th Great Danes are second to the Seawolves in forced turnovers (18.3 per game), and steals per game (9.6).
Albany is eighth in the America East in field goal percentage defense during conference play (.397) and has allowed its last four opponents to shoot over 40 percent.

Senior Kirsten Jeter scored a game-high 23 points but the Albany Great Danes used a 22-3 second-half run to defeat the Stony Brook University women's basketball team, 67-55, at Pritchard Gymnasium.
Jeter shot 9-for-16 from the field and was named Stony Brook's America East Player of the Game. The Seawolves shot over 40 percent for the first time in 12 games but turned the ball over a season-high 28 times.
