Women's Hoops closes road schedule at BU Sunday

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Playing its final road contest of the season, the Stony Brook University women's basketball team heads north to take on the Boston University Terriers on Sunday at Case Gym. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

Last time out
Stony Brook led by as many as eight in the second half but the Albany Great Danes used a late 13-1 run to defeat the Seawolves, 65-55, on Thursday at SEFCU Arena. Senior Kirsten Jeter (Elmont, N.Y.) led Stony Brook with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Scouting the Terriers
The Terriers (13-12, 10-3 AE) have lost three straight after winning their first 10 America East games. The top scoring team in the America East, BU has scored under 60 points in the last two games including a 62-52 loss to UMBC on Thursday.

Sophomore Chantell Alford is fourth in the America East in scoring (14.6 points per game) while junior Alex Young is eighth (13.1 ppg.). Sophomore Mo Moran leads the conference in assists (4.3 per game) while senior Kerry Cashman is second in the America East in rebounding (8.9 per game).

The Terriers are 7-4 at home this season including 5-1 in conference play. BU leads the America East in field goal percentage (.413) during league play and is averaging a league-low 13.4 turnovers per contest.

All-Time Series
BU has won the last seven meetings between the teams and leads the all-time series, 16-7. Stony Brook's last win over Terriers came on Feb. 10, 2007.

Last meeting (Jan. 20, 2011)
Senior Kirsten Jeter and junior Destiny Jacobs (Glen Burnie, Md.) each had 17 points and six rebounds but the first-place Boston University Terriers shot 60 percent in the second half on its way to an 82-65 victory over the Seawolves at Pritchard Gymnasium.

The Seawolves shot 43.4 percent for the game, its highest shooting percentage since shooting 43.9 percent in the win over Nicholls State on Nov. 24. Chantell Alford led four Terriers in double-figures with 24 points.
