Crowley named Lowe's Senior CLASS All-American

Overland Park, Kan. - Kevin Crowley of the Stony Brook men's lacrosse team has been named a Lowe's Senior CLASS All-American, it was announced on Sunday. Crowley is one of five student-athletes on the first team.

Crowley maintains a 3.37 GPA as a double major in business management and psychology. He has been named to the Dean's List in four semesters and also was named to the America East all-academic team and America East honor roll following the Spring 2009 and Spring 2010 seasons. Following the 2009 season, Crowley was named the SUNY Chancellor's Scholar Athlete of the Year for men's lacrosse. The award is given to the men's lacrosse player from a Division I institution in the state of New York who best exemplifies success both on the field and in the classroom. Kevin was also a recipient of the Stony Brook University Undergraduate Recognition Award for Excellence in Athletics in 2009 and 2010.

On the field, Crowley will be remembered as one of the greatest players in Stony Brook history. He recently earned USILA All-America first team status for a second year in a row as well as the organization's Midfielder of the Year. He had 30 goals and 26 assists in 2011, becoming the school's all-time leading scorer with 232 points.

The first pick of the 2011 Major League Lacrosse draft, he suits up for the Hamilton Nationals.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
