About the Game: The Stony Brook University women's basketball team tries to return to the win column on Wednesday, traveling to take on Binghamton. The Seawolves will be looking for their first win at Binghamton since Feb. 21, 2007.

Scouting Binghamton: The Bearcats are coming off one-point losses to Maine and Albany last week and are tied for fifth in the America East standings with Hartford. Binghamton is led by senior Andrea Holmes, who ranks third in the America East in scoring at 14.1 points per game. Holmes scored 16 of her 19 points in the second half in the first meeting between the teams this season. Orla O’Reilly (12.0 PPG) and Viive Rebane (10.6 PPG) are also averaging double-figures and Rebane ranks fifth in rebounding (8.4 RPG). BU is eighth in the America East in scoring during conference play but ranks third in scoring defense (51.2 points per game) and field goal percentage defense (.345).
Last time out: Stony Brook women’s basketball team was led by 12 points from junior Sam Landers but Tierra Shumpert paced four Vermont players in double-figures with 17 points as UVM defeated the Seawolves, 63-36, on Saturday at Pritchard Gym. Freshman Kellie Krueger added eight points for the Seawolves, who held Vermont to 33.9 percent shooting but were out-rebounded 52-28. Niki Taylor (12 points, 11 rebounds) and Kayla Burchill (14 points, 10 rebounds) each recorded double-doubles for the Catamounts.
