Cambridge, Mass. - For the second time this year, redshirt freshman Mike Rooney (East Islip, N.Y.) of the Stony Brook men's lacrosse team has been named America East Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Rooney tallied seven points (five goals, two assists) in two games last week.

Rooney, a midfielder, leads the Seawolves with 14 goals and is third on the team with 17 points. He tallied his third three-goal effort of the season at Bryant on March 24.

Rooney and Stony Brook open America East play at home against Vermont, Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
