About The Game: Stony Brook heads south to take on a much-improved UMBC team. The Retrievers picked up one of the early season upsets, defeating #4 Maryland, 8-7, with the help of the five fourth-quarter goals. UMBC leads the all-time series, 11-6, but Stony Brook has won the last two contests, including last year's 16-5 win in Stony Brook.
Scouting UMBC: Junior Scott Jones leads the Retrievers with 22 goals and 26 assists. Junior Joe Lustgarten has a team-high 17 assists. Sophomore Zach Linkous (11) and junior Scott Hopmann (10) are the other double digit scorers. Sophomore Phil Poe has won 53 percent of his draws (110 of 206) and leads UMBC with 42 ground balls. Junior Adam Cohen has played every minute in goal this season and ranks seventh in the nation with 11.44 saves per game. He owns a 10.11 goals against average

Seawolves News and Notes: Stony Brook is in the midst of a 16-game America East regular season winning streak. Its last loss during the regular season came against #8 UMBC, 14-8, on March 28, 2009 ... Junior Jeff Tundo surpassed his previous season-high of 15 assists with his 16th of the season at Binghamton. He's 10 points shy of tying his previous season-high in points (35) and needs seven points for 100 in his career ... The Seawolves held a 14-0 lead with 3:16 left in the third quarter vs. UMBC last season after Jordan McBride's seventh goal of the game ... The Retrievers were held scoreless for the first 45:54 of the game ...
