Men's Lacrosse sweeps weekly awards

Cambridge, Mass. - Junior Sean Brady (Huntington Bay, N.Y.) and redshirt freshman Mike Rooney (East Islip, N.Y.) have been named America East Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

Brady earns his first honor after a spectacular, 17-save performance against Binghamton. He made 11 stops in the second half, and leads the conference in goals against average (9.54).

Rooney picks up his third straight honor and fourth this season, tying Bo Tripodi '08 and Kevin Crowley '11 for the most in school history. Rooney totaled six points (five goals, one assist) against Binghamton, upping his season totals to 22 goals and 27 points to lead all freshmen midfielders nationally.

Stony Brook, 2-0 in conference play, travels to face UMBC (4-5, 2-0) Saturday night at 7 p.m.
