Countdown to #Seawolves Tip-Off: All In

Nov. 3, 2013

GoSeawolves.org is counting down the days until #Seawolves Tip-Off on Nov. 8 when both the men's and women's basketball teams are hosting their home openers.

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women's basketball team received a special visit from Gian Paul Gonzalez, a motivational speaker who delivered the famous "ALL IN" rally cry message for the New York Giants in December 2012 that is widely credited with helping them win Super Bowl XLVI.

Gonzalez, 29, and Stony Brook women's basketball head coach Beth O'Boyle met when O'Boyle was in her first season at Montclair State University. Gonzalez was an All-American forward for the Red Hawks men's basketball team, scoring nearly 1,400 points during his three-year career.

He went on to become a teacher and found 4-One, an organization dedicated to using hoops to share a message of hope and striving for excellence in inner-city public schools and juvenile jails. He received the 2012 New Jersey Hero Award from New Jersey First Lady Mary Pat Christi.
