#Seawolves to entertain UMBC on Dads N Daughters Day

Stony Brook, N.Y. - After an 86-63 win over UMass Lowell Saturday, the Stony Brook women's basketball team is back at it Monday for a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day matinee against UMBC. Opening tip is slated for 2 p.m.

Last Time Out

Junior forward Sabre Proctor reached double figures for the 13th consecutive time with a game-high 20 points as the Stony Brook women's basketball team trumped America East's newest member, UMass Lowell, 86-63, Saturday, Jan. 18 at Pritchard Gymnasium. Senior guard Teasha Harris matched a personal-best 17 points, and sophomores Brittany Snow and Miranda Jenkins added 10 points apiece. The 86 points the Seawolves scored were a season high, and the nine triples they hit were the most for the program since Nov. 8, 2010 (9 vs. Hofstra).  Stony Brook gained control of the game with an early 14-0 run to go in front, 24-14, when Proctor converted a three-point play at 11:37. The Seawolves led, 51-31, at the half and took their largest lead of the game, 82-50, on a layup by Kori Bayne-Walker with 5:54 left in the game.

Scouting the Retrievers

UMBC (2-15, 1-4) enters the contest on a four-game losing streak having most recently suffered a 63-59 setback at Vermont Saturday. The Retrievers rank third in the conference in field goal percentage defense (.382) but are ninth in scoring offense (49.1). Freshman forward Sara Tarbert paces the team with 12.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.

UMBC has won the last seven meetings and leads the all-time series, 12-10.
