Evann Slaughter tied a match high of 12 kills and hit .346, but the Stony Brook volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to New Hampshire (25-18, 26-24, 25-20) Thursday night at Lundholm Gymnasium. Junior
Nicole Vogel notched her fourth straight double-double on 26 assists and 10 digs.
Stony Brook (17-12, 7-4 America East) can clinch a No. 2 seed with a triumph at UMass Lowell Friday night.
With the win, New Hampshire (17-11,10-1) secured the outright regular season conference crown and will host the America East Championship Nov. 21-22/Nov. 22-23.

Recap
• After dropping the first set, 25-18, the Seawolves came back and posted their best showing of the night in the second stanza. They fell behind, 22-19, late in the but rallied. Vogel pushed one over the net and Slaughter hammered home back-to-back smacks to knot the score at 22-all. Two straight New Hampshire kills followed by consecutive attack errors kept the set even, 24-24. An SBU attack error gave the Wildcats a 25-24 edge and set-point opportunity, and they took advantage of it by scoring a kill.
• Though the third frame remained close throughout, New Hampshire never trailed and won.

• Slaughter is one kill shy of becoming the 10th player in program history to reach 1,000 career kills. Rigo reached the milestone Oct. 18 vs. UNH.
• Vogel’s double-double was her 11th of the season, putting her in a tie with Rigo for the team lead.
• The loss snapped Stony Brook’s five-match winning streak.
• The Seawolves are 17-16 all-time vs. New Hampshire.
