Sophomore Kori Bayne-Walker posted 12 points, six assists and six rebounds as Stony Brook earned its first America East win of the season, 60-38 over Vermont Wednesday. Sophomore Christa Scognamiglio and junior Brittany Snow chimed in with nine points apiece. The Seawolves closed the first half on a 22-8 run for a 38-19 advantage and led by at least 16 points for the entire second half.
Scouting the Retrievers
UMBC (5-10, 0-2 America East) dropped its first two conference games at UMass Lowell (75-62) and New Hampshire (67-45) and has lost five straight. Capree Garner is first on the team and second in the conference in scoring at 18.2 points per game.
Series History vs. the Retrievers
Stony Brook won all three meetings last year, including a 61-49 win in the America East Championship quarterfinals. The Seawolves lead the all-time series, 13-12.
